WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE FLORIDA DRIVER LEARNER PERMIT – DRIVER LICENSE WRITTEN EXAM ONLINE?

Any unlicensed driver who is under 18 years old and has completed an online TLSAE course is eligible. The convenience of this online option allows you to bypass the long lines and waiting times at your local DHSMV office. Instead, you can take the Florida Driver Learner Permit Written Exam from the comfort of your home.

WHAT QUESTIONS CAN I EXPECT ON THE FLORIDA DRIVER LEARNER’S PERMIT TEST?

According to Florida DHSMV regulations, a parent must be present during the Florida learner's permit testing session. Before starting the test, parents need to provide certain identifying information and certify that they have observed the testing session.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE FLORIDA ONLINE DRIVER LICENSE PERMIT TEST?

The Florida driver license written permit test (Class E Knowledge Test) consists of two sections:

Road Rules exam and Road Signs exam

The new Florida Driver Learner License Permit test/written exam features 40 multiple-choice questions on road rules and 10 questions on road signs. If you do not answer a question within the designated time limit, it will be recorded as a no answer (a "blank") when your test is scored.

Additionally, you will have a limited time to answer personal identity validation questions that will be asked periodically throughout the exam. A wrong answer to a personal identity validation question will lead to another question being asked. An additional incorrect answer will terminate the testing session (i.e., result in a "failure" grade).

You must score at least 80% on the 50 driving questions to pass the Florida learner's permit online exam.

The two sections are evaluated independently, and you are allowed three chances to pass each exam in the online format. If you do not pass your first or second attempt on the Florida learner's permit exam, you can retake it, but you will have to pay a DHSMV-assessed retesting fee of $10 for the second and third attempts. If you fail your third attempt online, you must go to your local DHSMV or tax collector office to complete the exam in person, and you will not be able to retake the online Florida learner's permit exam.

All Florida learner permit test scores are automatically and electronically sent to the DHSMV and, like your TLSAE completion, will be accessible to DHSMV staff when you visit your local office for your Florida Driver License Learner permit.

HOW MUCH DOES THE ONLINE FLORIDA ROAD RULES AND ROAD SIGN TEST COST?

One important point to clarify: Many online traffic school Driver License Permit Exam Providers claim to be the least expensive, but once you enter your credit card information and continue with the registration or, in many cases – complete the course and initiate payment for your certificate – you may realize you need to pay extra fees. Some of these might include processing fees, handling fees, or service fees, which ultimately increase the final cost of the Florida Driver License Permit. Our Driver License Permit Exam is only $24.95 with no hidden fees. This affordable service is available individually or as part of various convenience packages offering substantial savings!
